If you are considering a new Character Boat or just wish to upgrade your current boat then we are always willing to give a fixed price quotation once we know your choice of craft or requirments for optional extra equipment.
There is still time to order and be afloat for the new sailing season, but do not delay as the season is approaching fast - current delivery times on new craft are typically 10 to 12 weeks from date of order confirmation.
The Character Boats Owners Rally in the south is being held at Salcombe in Devon over the weekend of the 25-27th. June 2010, we hope to meet up with many of you there.

Welcome to our website where you will find plenty of information and photographs of popular craft from our range of Traditional and Classic sailing craft.
Character Boats have been established over 30 years and are based in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. The craft we build are glassfibre replicas of the original seaworthy working boats hulls from the North West and Scottish coastlines.
In recent years we have invested heavily in new moulds and upgraded the fit out, equipment and finish of the craft to suit the requirements of private owners but without compromising the sturdiness or sailing qualities of the original hull shapes.
Quality moulded hulls fitted out with hand crafted hardwood gunwales, seating, and cockpit sole boards and equipped with quality stainless steel deck equipment and fittings. They are recognised for their quality of build, attention to detail and standard of finish.
Our new craft have been independently tested and certified under the recreational Craft Directive (RCD) in line with European standards. Built by professional time served craftsmen using modern materials whilst keeping the traditional design gives a craft with aesthetic appeal that many owners seek, which offers low maintenance and gives great pride of ownership.
Several top sailors including European Champions and Olympic medalists have sailed our craft and they always comment about the good handling and fine balance. Very few other traditional craft are able to offer this combination of desireable features and even then only at considerably greater cost. Character Boats offer quality and unbeatable value.
